Tips For Humans #2 - Challenge Your Thinking

Tips For Humans #2 - Challenge Your Thinking

“Don’t be afraid to read something you might not like. There might be one sentence in there that changes everything.” - Grandma Bauer

When reading things outside our comfort zone, we can stumble across useful perspectives we'd otherwise never find. Today I was on a group call where someone mentioned a book he read that “wasn’t particularly good, except for this one anecdote that stood out…” Turned out the story WAS helpful for *everyone* on the call. Good thing he stuck with that mediocre book!

If we can find one simple insight or learning from everything we experience, both good and bad (a book we read that wasn't great, an experience we didn't want to have), everything suddenly becomes a learning experience that adds to our overall experience as a human.

Of course, don't waste your time with garbage. Feel free to skim through the useless bits and skip around if you want. But patience often leads to gold.

See what you find. You might come across something that changes your perspective on an issue, forever.
